Matthew 1:18-25 – Dramatic Reflections of Joseph

Matthew’s Gospel reveals a true insight of Joseph. While the focal point is often on Mary and Jesus, Joseph offers much to our own walk of faith.  Joseph is a model of God’s servant when the outcome and understanding of what God is doing is very unclear. Here are the insights Matthew reveals to us…

Joseph sought the Lord with his problems. (1:18-20a)

Joseph listened to the Lord for his Guidance. (1:20b-23)

Joseph obeyed the Lord by his actions. (1:24-25a)

Joseph honored the Lord through his obedience. (1:25b)

Lord, thank you for Joseph who teaches us to seek you for our problems. May we listen to your still small voice for guidance.  May we obey your word and honor your presence in all that we do and all that we can. In Jesus Name, Amen.
